The Washington Town Board will be creating a Comprehensive Plan Review Committee.  The charge of the Committee will be discussed at the May 13, 2021 Town Board meeting.  Here is the current Comprehensive Plan - 2015

Conservation Advisory Commission Vacancy

The Town of Washington Town Board seeks local volunteers to fill two vacancies on the Conservation Advisory Commission.  Follow the link for information about the Establishment and Responsibilities of the Conservation Advisory Commission.  The CAC meets the first Wednesday of the month (or the Wednesday following the Planning Board meeting) at 7:30 PM

 Data Collector Needed

The Town is seeking a part time data collector to work in the Office of the Assessor.  The position entails verifying property information via online resources and field visits, data entry and use of drawing software.   The ideal candidate is available in the office for 15 hours per week,  has a NYS driver's license and a reliable vehicle.   This is an ideal position for candidates with strong internet skills or a real estate background.  The starting wage is $17.75 per hour.

2021 TAX COLLECTION

NOTICE OF RECEIPT OF TAX ROLL AND TAX WARRANT 2021

             PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT I, MARY ALEX, Tax Collector of the Town of Washington, Dutchess County, New York, have received the tax roll and warrant for the collection of taxes within the Town of Washington for the Year 2021. 

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE THAT checks may be made payable to Mary Alex, Tax Collector, and sent to P O Box 667, Millbrook, NY  12545.  Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, it is encouraged that payments are sent through the USPS or paid on the tax portal available through the town website: www.washingtonny.org

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE THAT due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, in person payment availability may change without notice.  Payments may be made in person at the Town Hall, 10 Reservoir Drive, Millbrook, NY 12545, Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM, excluding weekends and holidays.  The Town Clerk’s Office will be closed on January 18, February 15 and May 31.  Payments may be left in the mail receptacle on the front of the Town Hall.

            TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that taxes may be paid on or before March 1, 2021 without penalty.  On all such taxes remaining unpaid, beginning on March 2nd, a penalty will be added as follows:  March 2 – March 31: 2 %, April 1 – April 30: 3 % and May 1 – June 1: 4%.  Beginning on May 1, an additional fee of $2.00 will be assessed to any unpaid properties.   Beginning on June 2, 2021, the unpaid taxes will be turned over to the Dutchess County Commissioner of Finance, 22 Market St., Poughkeepsie, NY  12601.
