GENERAL INFORMATION – The Building and Zoning Department is responsible for the effective, timely and consistent enforcement of local and state laws. One of the major responsibilities of the Department is the issuance of building permits, demolition permits and certificates of occupancy. Prior to the issuance of any permit, the Building Inspector performs site inspections and conducts a full review of the property.

CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY SEARCH REQUESTS
If you are requesting a Certificate of Occupancy Search, please send a written request to the Building Department, P O Box 667, Millbrook, NY 12545.
You must include the Name of the Property Owner, the physical address of the property, the tax id (grid #) and a check in the amount of $200.00 made payable to “The Town of Washington”.
